A 2020 OF INCENTIVES FOR BIOGAS PLANTS IN AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES
Energy and respect.
Thanks to the approval of the Milleproroghe decree, incentives for biogas plants up to 300 kW which are part of the production cycle of an agricultural company are also foreseen throughout 2020.
The requirements? A plant feed that derives at least 80% from wastewater and materials produced by the farms that produce it and the rest from their second harvest crops.
A real positive push towards an approach of responsibility and environmental attention.
From biogas to digestate, Cib relaunches the role of the agricultural sector in the Pniec
According to the Italian Biogas Consortium, the agricultural sector will be able to make a decisive contribution in the next National Integrated Energy Climate Plan.
The director of CIB Carlisi explained how we can intervene by reducing 50% of agricultural greenhouse gas emissions through agriculture that produces biogas and biomethane through anaerobic digestion.
„This could act positively on over 14,500 mega tons of CO2eq per year, thanks to the enhancement of zootechnical effluents, the drastic reduction of chemical fertilizers, the optimization of nutrient recycling and the adoption of advanced cultivation techniques“.
Case history CAB Massari
One of the Italian customers who has chosen to use our systems for many years is Luciano Pula from CAB Massari, a company born from the unification of the two cooperatives CAB Mas.co (Massa Lombarda / Conselice) and CAB Lavezzola which historically led the land in the Conselice area and Massese.
The activities carried out by the cooperative are the management of the land and livestock breeding: the company boasts about 380 cattle that produce 1,300,000 liters of high quality milk. The cooperative also includes two other types of farms: the agritourism one with the catering sector and the hunting wildlife one, in addition to the dog training camps with firing powers and the guided tours promoted by the educational farms in the province of Ravenna.
In the 1980s, an increasing awareness and attention to environmental and product quality issues made its way among the partners, which led to the experience of organic cultivation in the early 1990s. A consistent agriculture program that is more compatible with the environment and at the same time restoring and re-naturalizing different areas is started and continued, by joining several actions provided for by the Regional Regulations.
Today CAB Massari is one of the companies in the Emilia region to have paid particular attention to renewable energy sources, such as biogas, using a bio-digester system for the production of electricity, obtained from renewable sources with the use of manure, farm products and agricultural by-products.
Biogas and biomethane to cure the planet.
As we know, the climatic situation is critical.
Biogas and biomethane, together with other renewable energies, play a key role in curing „planet fever“.
According to Luca Mercalli, an important Italian meteorologist and climatologist, biogas can contribute in 3 ways.

CO2 enhancement technologies
For farms the purpose of a biogas plant is to obtain an additional income thanks to the sale of electricity or biomethane and, furthermore, to obtain digestate, an excellent efficient and low cost organic fertilizer.
The biogas plant also has an important environmental advantage, which motivates its state incentives for this technology.

Renewable energy in agriculture, the European AgroRes project starts.
AgroRes, the European project on renewables in agriculture, involves Arsial – the Lazio Regional Agency for Development and Innovation in Agriculture – and the institutions of six other countries with an allocation of 1.4 million euros.
The project will last 42 months and aims to implement measures that encourage the production and use of renewable energies in agriculture and rural areas.
